The new contract was officially ratified by the Sign & Display workers with a 90% margin on May 9, 2007. Key issues involving wage increases, healthcare and welfare benefits plan and the term of the contract were resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. | NY Official Says Smaller Javits Expansion Planned Patrick Foye, New York's top economic development official, has announced the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion will be confined to 300,000 square feet at a cost of $1.8 billion. Foye made the announcement at a breakfast forum of 500 people sponsored by Crain's New York Business. The expansion plan had been criticized by tradeshow executives and government officials as too expensive for not enough additional space. | Las Vegas Labor Negotiations Begin GES Exposition Services, Freeman and other convention industry contractors have begun negotiations with Las Vegas Teamsters Local 631. Negotiations continue and all parties are working toward an agreement that will benefit the workers, the union, the employers, our mutual clients and the Las Vegas exhibition industry.
